Hello I wondered if someone could help me?.

i have a cake to make in the shape of a number 2 but rather then buy a number to cake tin I have purchased a rectangle tin 13x9  3" deep which I will carve the number 2 from.

Does anyone no a good recipe that I can use for a tin that size.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

I use the durable cake recipe from this site for cakes like this...http://www.cakecentral.com/recipe/1972/durable-cake-for-3d-and-wedding-cakes

One person said in the comments that one recipe made a thin 13x9. So maybe you could just bake 2 of them and stack?

i would freeze before carving, but some people don't.

Forgot to mention...the batter is super thick so you will have to spread it out well and maybe bang the pan on the counter a few times to get it nice and even. I would stick a couple flower nails in the cake as well to make sure it bakes flat (if you have them- you can search google for an explanation of the technique if you don't get what I mean.)
