Hi everyone! My aunt wants me to ship a cake to her (which I have done before), but I wanted to do an edible image on the cake this time. I would have to freeze the cake and plastic wrap it for shipping. Anyone know if edible images can be frozen and wrapped in plastic wrapped? Any help would be appreciated!

I print and use my own edible images, agree with K8, definitely iffy.  As the cake defrosts there will be an awful lot of condensation coming off the cake and soaking into the image. The image can't be posted separately and somebody put it on at the other end?

Mmh that may be a good idea, but how can you ship an edible image? Can I place it in some kind of plastic sheet? Thanks for that idea 810whitechoc

I've ordered edible images from various eBay sellers and etsy shops and they usually come in a simple plastic bag or sleeve. I would imagine you could just put the sheet in a gallon ziploc and ship it in a cardboard mailer with fragile, do not bend written on it. Maybe ship a backup sheet as well.

Don't put it on the cake then freeze it. The humidity from the freezer and the condensation as it thaws will affect the image and you won't be able to predict what will happen!

Place the edible image still on its backing sheet, on a piece of firm cardboard that won't bend.  Wrap it in silicone paper/baking paper, put in a ziplock bag and put the ziplock bag in a post pack/bag.  Not sure what you call post packs (which is what we call them here) they are plastic post bags.  It will travel perfectly.
