Just bought a 7.0oz. bag of ready to go clear isomalt "nibs"  that look just like hard candies for 10.69 from Cakeplay.  If Isomalt is used in the sugar free candy world, has anyone tried melting hard candies?  Sugarwork is never eaten anyway and I would love a cheaper alternative.  Just curious if anyone else has already tried this.  Thanks.

You can try it, it would probably work. It would depend on what else was in the candy and what you're trying to make with it, but the sweeteners they use in that type of candy will give you the same kinds of "intestinal distress" as isomalt would, so they're probably structurally similar!smirk.png
