Good Morning All! I need help! I am trying to make a royal blue buttercream and have been unsuccessful. I purchased the royal blue gel and it turned out light blue. I even tried adding a bit of black and violet and still light blue.  Cake is due tomorrow

It takes time for colors to develop.  Most of the time when I need a deep, dark color one needs to add the gel/paste to the icing the night before so it has time to develop/mature.  Also, colors usually deepen at least one ot two shades once exposed to air.  If you are getting only a light blue you need to add more gel.  I'm guessing one needs about  1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon gel to color one cup of icing.
