Hey everyone, I'm making a ukelele cake and need some advice.

I've made a guitar cake once before but had the fretboard made out of cake and resting on the board. If I want to make it more realistic in that the fretboard would would not touch the board, what's the best way to accomplish this? I hope I'm making sense!

I usually make the fretboard out of a very thin piece of mdf board. It's a very sturdy but very thin as well. I suspend it by using a base wood at the end where it connects to the guitar and carve the cake to fit around that. Then I cover the fretboard in Black fondant and decorate as normal. [postimage id="4312" thumb="900"]

Oh my goodness, @nweppler ‍ that's crazy amazing work! I made a ukelele cake recently but I couldn't even deal with a suspending fretboard!
