Hello I'll be making this cake next week and need to know exactly how I would go about making the whole welcome to Las Vegas sign on the top, she wants it exactly like that. Thank you!
Enlarge the picture of the logo to the size you need and use that as your template. I would print it on stock card.
Using your template, cut out the main pieces out of gum paste. (plaque/ the black strips/the star)
Insert skewers into the bottom of the black strips at least 1/3 of the way while the gumpaste is soft. Lay flat to dry.
Cut out the plaque. You want those circles uniform, Makins makes cheap cutters or find a cover from a bottle that is the size you need. A bottle of vanilla??
The letters will be the hardest to cut. Use an X-ACTO knife, slide the blade into shortening before each cut to get clean cuts. kwim
OR you could hand paint the words. OR cut out the " LAS VEGAS" and paint the rest.
Let the pieces dry - the strips/plaque /star. Assemble using edible glue.

I bake for friends and family and my mantra is " I cannot promise that it will be exactly like the pic."
I understand a paying client is different. HTH
@carolinecakes thank you so much for your help!!!! I followed your advice and was able to pull it off! The birthday boy was very pleased:) now I have to learn how to post pics so I could share it lol. Thank you again!
You are very welcome.
To post pics here in the forum look at the top of the reply box, upper row second to last button, looks like a tiny sun and mountain, click and follow the instructions. Sometimes its best to post the pic and then post the text seperately. HTH
or
you can post in the gallery, top menu bar of the page click on "Gallery" and then click on "add a photo"
Can't wait to see you cake!!!!
