So I had a bunch of this fondant left over and instead of letting it sit and go unused, I added some Tylose and tried to make decorations. It didn't get hard.

Second attempt...add more Tylose...you know because maybe I didn't add enough the first time? Strike two.

Third and final attempt (last night)...mix it with gum paste (50/50). This has got to work, right? Well it stretched and was sticky and just a pain to work with. Strike three! <face palm>

So it's safe to assume this particular fondant is formulated differently (because it's for hot humid climates) and is not ideal for making decorations. 

Lesson learned!
