Hi there!

brand new to this site so hoping for some help please.

I have only made a few cakes before so am a bit of a newbie to this too.

I need to make a cake for Sunday, sponge cake with buttercream and Jam filling. I'm not covering it in fondant, just buttercream and loading it on top with sweets (this is the request). My questions are..

1. How far in advance can I bake the cake?

2. How far in advance can I fill it and buttercream the outside?

3. Once complete how and where do I store it?

Basically I only really have time tonight and tomorrow but is this too early?

Thanks so much!!!

1. How far in advance can I bake the cake?

..............Up to 6 months in advance.  Wrap in several layers of plastic and freeze.

2. How far in advance can I fill it and buttercream the outside?

...........3 days

3. Once complete how and where do I store it?

,,,,,,,,,,If more than 24 hours, put in the cake box, then put that into a plastic bag and store in the frig

Basically I only really have time tonight and tomorrow but is this too early?

.....every hour made ahead will shorten the time the customer has to enjoy any leftovers but should not effect eating it within 48-72 hours after it is completed.
