Hey everyone!

I'm just looking for a suggestion or two for a violin cake I'm making for a client. I know how I'm going to do the main part, but I'm wondering what others would suggest about the neck of the violin. I'd like to not make it out of cake, because I think it looks bulky and takes away from the realistic aspect of it, but i'm thinking this may be the easiest way...?

I've seen pictures of the neck made of modeling chocolate or fondant or something and it looks great! What would you do???

Thanks in advance!

You could use Rice Krispie treats for the neck and cover that with fondant. It should hold it shape pretty well if you let it harden overnight or longer after you formed the neck.

Thanks bakerlady! Never even crossed my mind to use rice krispies!

And that looks great gowildcakes! Definitely doesn't look bulky using cake if you do it right.
