Can anyone tell me what the difference is between hi ratio and shortening with trans fat?  I know there are specific brands

of hi ratio, but I did find a shortening that did have trans fats in it.  Will this produce the same results as hi ratio?

Thank you!

So, which brand did you find with trans fats in it.  I have looked everywhere and have found no brand names that have it. I hear it makes your frosting creamier. I have never used high ratio shortening before. Others here would be able to answer you better who have had experience with the high ratio shortening.

The brand is called Holsum.  The label shows 2.5g of trans fat per serving (one tablespoon).  I found it at a local grocery store.

The label states it is made by Ventura Foods in Brea, CA.

Thank you for your response :)
