I'm making a cake for my dad's 70th birthday party, he loves white cake but I wanted to kick it up a bit and was thinking of making the WASC cake with Nutella buttercream filling.
I'm planning on covering the cake with fondant and was wondering if I should ice the cake with my regular buttercream frosting or the Nutella buttercream? I would like to just use plain buttercream since it will be iced thin as the fondant base but not sure if the flavors could get to be too much. I don't want to end up with a mess if it doesn't all come together.
Any suggestions on other types of fillings? Maybe a white chocolate? Anything fruit based is out since he's not a fan.
White chocolate, dark chocolate, cream cheese, Oreo, espresso, red velvet, almond, or caramel frostings would make a great filling!
