I have been asked to make a wedding cake to feed up to 150 people I would like to make a 3 tier cake with the largest tier being 14 inch round at the bottom 12 inch in the middle and 10 inch round for top would that look weird? and would that be enough cake to feed 150 each tier would be 2 layer each any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

A 10 top is much too big.  It will look 'of''/unfinished.  I suggest an 8". and each tier needs to be at least 4" tall (2 layers each 2" tall w/filling between them)  If all the cake is served the industry standard size you should get exactly 150.

I never cared for these tower cakes.....I guess I'm stuck in the 'old days' w/at least 4" difference between the tiers.  I would make it 16, 12, 8 OR 16, 12, 6 :)   To me these 'modern' tower cakes look soooo unstable - like a huge accident - just waiting to fall over :(
