I need to make open roses with a silicone mold. What is best to use, gumpaste or fondant with tylose. I have heard that gumpaste, fondant 50/50 is good. Please help!

It probably depends on the mold, but if you're using one that has deep cuts in it you should use something stiffer to keep the shape better when you remove it from the mold. For an open rose I'd use straight gumpaste because the fondant/gumpaste mix could be too soft. You can experiment with it, though, because like I said, it depends on the mold.
