Hi!

Sorry to bother you with this question, I didn't find the answer on the forum.

I am trying to cut fondant with my exacto knife but I still don't have a clean edge, and also my forms got "expanded" when I cut it.

How do you cut the fondant ? do you mix fondant and gum paste, do you dry the fondant a while ? What are your tips ?

Thanks a lot for your help !!

Cheers from Switzerland

If I'm cutting a decoration out of fondant and I want it to be just fondant (no tylose, etc.) I always roll it out and put it in the fridge for a few minutes.  It firms it up enough that I can get a clean cut without stretching it out of shape.

I make sure that the blade is very clean and I run a bit of shortening on the blade so it will slide.
