900_how-to-make-this_9086135714d982f07f3.jpgI've been asked to make this cake. I am wanting advise on how to make the wooden slats and also the deer so tall with the bow and it not fall over. Also they would prefer not to have the cake covered in fondant but I know it's going to have to have some on it. For sure the deer

The bow and deer will definitely have to be gumpaste and you can put a stick on the back for support.  If they do not want fondant you will have to work with modeling chocolate.  See this video

GP or modeling choco are the best choices but colorflow  and plain chocolate are also  possibilities for making those slats.

There is a tutorial on Cake central for a Malefecent cake that cake give tips as to how to make the deer.....a good wood slat mold or embossing mat would assist in the wood slats.....:)
