Hi, my name is Niki. I'm new at home decorating and I'm having some issues getting the ratios of vodka and gel food coloring right for the edible paint. I seen on youtube and instead of mixing the 2 ingredients together, the lady dipped her brush into the vodka first and the just a little in the coloring. Before when I mixed them I would be sticky..I may have piled too much on..any help from the amazing artist on here?

I'd put some gel color into a small dish then add some vodka to that, a tiny bit at a time. That way you can control how thick it is. Dipping your brush in and out of a container of color is a good way to contaminate it.

Thank you. I'll try that. I haven't tried to dip it like she has. They just used a little hand held paint tray. So nothing got messed up. I'll work on it. :-)
