Four days ago I made a beautiful fondant quilt to drape over a baby for a baby shower cake. This morning to looked at the quilt and it has hardened. How can i soften it back up that way the quilt will drape over the baby without it cracking. The quilt has purples blacks and greys in it. I was thinking about popping it in the microwave but is that a smart thing to do. I really did not want to redo the quilt due to it being time consuming.

I know of no way to soften fondant once it's hard.  In the future, pop it in the freezer until needed.

Don't microwave it!  You could try putting it in a sealed container with a damp paper towel.  Don't let it touch the blanket though & make sure you have the blanket on parchment with corn starch on it or something similar in case the fondant gets sticky.  Good luck!
