Renting Kitchen Space For Out Of State Event

Hi everyone, 

A friend of mine is getting married next spring in East Hampton, NY. He asked me to do his cake, if it would be possible. I'm in Los Angeles and would have to rent a kitchen. I don't have any professional connections in NY, am not familiar with the geography of the city and where I would be traveling, so I'm wondering if this is possible. If it is, I can just say that it would be a spectacular opportunity for me and could do a lot for my career. 

I suppose the biggest issues really are logistics: how to rent a kitchen out of state. Would I need a different kind of insurance? Traveling from the kitchen to the venue, supplies, etc. Does anyone have experience with this? There isn't a budget for this project, and money isn't an object for the couple, which is helpful since the location is obviously very expensive. Any insight would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you!
