Hi all, so I'm not a baker. I'm a mom.

I bought a cake for my son's upcoming party and want to make a football shaped topper myself. I bought styrofoam and already shaped it into a football. Now I want to cover it with fondant.

Party is in 1 and half weeks. I don't want it to go bad, meaning look dried out, since no one is really eating it.  But also, I want to give it a go sooner rather then later, in case the first try doesn't work and I have to re-do it.

Thank you for all the help!
