Hello!

Has anyone used Alan Tetreault's cake mixes for a topsy turvy cake? I'm making a topsy turvy for my daughter's birthday in a few weeks, and while I have a white cake recipe that I know would work (it's sort of a semi-pound cake), she also wants a chocolate layer and I'm not sure I have a scratch recipe for that.

I'm buying a few supplies from sugarart anyway and saw the mixes on there, but there's nothing in the detailed description to describe if they'd work well or not.

Also, anyone know if they're nut free? There's a girl in her class with a tree nut allergy.

If they won't work, does anyone have mix and/or scratch recipe suggestions (nut free) that would work well for carving/stacking?

Thank you SO much!
