Could somebody give me some tips how to take good pictures of my cakes?

I always take my cake pictures in the same place on my dining room table with lace tablecloth.  No clutter.

I purchased a very nice camera, Canon, EOS Rebel SL1.  Use close up or Macro button and a tripod if needed.

Yes, what Lindasicings said.  Make sure there is no clutter in the picture and never have the cake in a delivery box.  Get as close as you dare to make the picture as clear as possible, showing off the decorations.  Take at least 3 to 6 pictures of each cake and save the best one(s) deleating the others.  I've had my camera (a FinePix by fujifilm, digital A330) for some 20 yrs (it uses a chip instead of film so deleating is easy.)   When possible put the cake near a window so there is lots of natural light.
