Hi all,

I have made cakepops a few times using the Wilton candy melts. They are okay, but I'm really not a fan of the taste. One time I mixed in some baking chocolate with the leftover candy melts, and I thought the flavor was way better, although, the chocolate coating was much softer. Is there a good chocolate coating recipe out there that actually tastes great & has a nice crisp snap when you bite into it?? I'd like to try something new.

Thanks!

Try either Merckens or Peters brands.

I like using almond bark...

...it's got a light chocolate taste which allows the flavor of the cake to come through, fluidity is generally spot-on when product is new, mixes easily with paramount crystals when fluidity needs to be corrected, drys fast and smooth, and maintains its snap.

yes, it's a block of candy, and it's a pain to have to chop it...but it performs really well!
