56a28cde82073.pngCake Pros...I have been trying to figure out the best way to make this cake. I am a hobby baker and have baked several cakes..including my wedding cake, both fondant and buttercream,  and often get praises for my work BUT I am in NO way in YOUR league. I'm just simply trying to make this cake for my grand-daughter's 6th birthday.

Can you tell me the best way? Looks like the cake is a 6in? 4 in tier? My biggest question is what to make the crayon box out of? Is it fondant, gumpaste, 50/50? If so, how is it [box] standing?

Thank you for your time!!

Not a pro, but to me looks like a round cake on a square cake, which would be the crayon box.  You could do 50/50 or gumpaste (not sure fondant would hold - maybe if you allowed it to dry in panels first, then apply?), but personally, I would use modelling chocolate. I like working with it better and requires no drying time and tastes much better.
