Hi folks-

An amateur here.   An amateur that winds up drinking and crying every time she tries to cover a cake in fondant.

I'm using the Wilton 3-D skull cake pan and covering it with buttercream and using the Viva method.   But does anyone have suggestions on making the eyes and teeth look good?

I could just pipe black gel or icing in there, but from what I've seen online it doesn't look too good.

I could buy black spray for the eyes, but what do you all suggest for the teeth?

Thanks!   I tried to include pictures and links, but for some reason the page kept freezing.

Hi,

I recently did a skull cake for my parents at Xmas.  I carved it from fruit cake and covered in fondant. The eyes, I used black petal dust to make them look hollow and the teeth I whittled almonds and stuck them in with butter cream.

I will try to get a picture up.. :)
