Hello ovely ladies

I am sorry but I am in deep dilemma right now. I have to place a 6" cake on 8" cake both covered in MM fondant. My question is when should I cut the excess cake board of 6" cake before or after covering it with fondant? Both cakes are covered with dark chocolate ganache and I have to put fondant on it. I have just 4 hrs to make a decision please please help me asap.

it is certainly possible to cut it afterwards but awkward and messy -- not a lot of fun -- if you ever need to -- hold it over the edge of the table and use scissors

you're welcome -- best to you

Great I was able to hold it with my hands as it wasn't very heavy though I had this edge thing in my mind. But many thanks for the confirmation. Happy baking :)

i mean if the cake is already on it -- post #4 is if you do it after the cake is placed on the board --

anyhow -- good job
