Hello,

When I am making figures or models for my cakes, I use the Karen Davies face Moulds. When I am painting on the eyes the colours all bleed in to one another and they never look very neat. I always leave each layer to dry completely and I use vodka as my mixer to dilute my dusts, I have tried with it very wet and hardly any at all. I just always end up with 2 messy blurry blobs!

I got the karen davies moulds in the first place because i love how the eyes look when they're painted on but mine have never looked like that yet! I have a steady hand for the painting its just the mixing of colours that ruin it.

Any one have any tips for me?

Thanks.

i'm not the best with a paint brush -- i often use edible ink markers and i trim the tips to make a real time tip --

but i would use food color and vodka (or everclear) not a dust -- i usually use air brush color

Thanks so much for your advice, I have now tried with food colours and water instead of powders and got the exact result I have been trying to achieve!
