Hi guys,

I would like to make a BB 8 star wars cake and want to use my 8" IKEA metal bowl to make the sphere cake. I would be making both halves and was wondering how

many servings the full sphere would yield.

The order is for 20 kids and 6 adults and just wanted to have an indication whether this would be enough or too much or too little.

Thank you so much!

Measure how many cups that bowl holds. Then subtract about 1/3. That "should" be a good estimate of batter needed. 1/4 cup of batter is one serving (cupcake). Now double the result (two ball halves) and you have an estimate.

So, if the bowl holds 6 cups, it would need 4 cups of batter, and yield 16 servings. Two sphere halves, so 32 servings.
