Halfing A Cake Recipe

I have a cake recipe that calls for 3 eggs.  I want to make cut the recipe in half, so how many eggs should I use.  Thanks

beat one of the eggs and use half of that with one whole egg

You could also use an extra yolk (I've always got some in the fridge).
