Hi everyone!

This is my very first post so I apologize if I've put this question in the wrong category.

I need to make an 80s boom box cake (to scale) in a couple of weeks and I've seen some AMAZING cakes online. Some of them have this great speaker "texture" and I'm wondering if anyone knows knows how they did it?

Do they make a mini diamond quilted fondant mat somewhere? the ones I've seen on ebay are a little too big.

Any suggestions on how to get that texture would be great!

Thanks!

Yoshi

The texture in the picture looks similar to a cake in a previous thread.  There are some silicone texture mats out there, but this thread had a few other suggestions:  http://www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/826853/what-is-used-to-make-this-texture-on-the-cake
