I am using sugarveil for the first time and am nervous...I have read that for some people it never sets..

Any tips?

Also how many days in advance can I make it?

Sugarveil sucks. Try Cake Lace by Claire Bowman instead!

Hi Aish - There's lots of different ways to work with SugarVeil - the quickest is to oven set so you can have decorations start to finish in minutes: You can make your decorations in advance and store them between sheets of parchment in a zipped bag, or let them dry completely and re-moisten them to return to flexibility, like this: Here are a few other links for you - the drop-down list under the word "Create" at lists tips all along the way of working with SugarVeil, and there are many other techniques and photos at For questions at any time, you can pose them on our Facebook page at (and check out the new videos there, too, like making a copper bow, for example). Thanks!
