How Long In Advance Can I Decorate Cupcakes With Jelly Beans? Do Jelly Beans Start Melting With Time?

Hi

I am planning to make Jelly Beans cupcakes for a party. I am wondering if I can make them a day in advance. Do Jelly Beans start absorbing the frosting and become soft? Which type of frosting would be ideal for them - butter cream or ganache?

In my experience, they should be fine. I use the jelly bean rocks for deco sometimes on buttercream and they never run or get gooey.
