Will Chocolate Ganache Dissolve Meringue?

Hello all,

I'm assembling a cake this weekend that is covered in ganache (quite runny to start, as it needs to dribble down over the sides of the cake for a messy look).

On top of the ganache will be shards of toffee and little meringue peaks. I'll bake the meringues in the oven. Will placing the meringues on top of the ganache cause them to dissolve? Or will they be ok if I set the ganache in the fridge first? Was thinking I could coat their bases with some royal icing or even sit them on extra pieces of toffee to be safe?

Thanks!
