When making 3 D figures for your cakes, what can you use to put the figures together?( i.e like attach bodyparts and such)

Are you talke about fondant/gumpast figures: some people will use royal icing or you can use Gum Arabic (link below, with direction, you do not eat this)

Or are talk about a 3d cake?

Yeah fondant figures. Want to make it edible even though it probably will not be eaten. Well not entirely. icon_biggrin.gif

When I make figures out of fondant...i find that the water as glue holds the pieces pretty good....Every now and then a piece will fall so I started placing toothpick pieces to put them together and then using the water as glue for extra insurance.

I glue them with water as well.

If you want to make the figure entirely edible, you can make edible "Toothpicks" from left over gumpaste. Just make little sticks and leave them to dry. So you can support the head, body etc.

I've used spaghetti when I've needed extra support... icon_lol.gif
