Hello everyone!
i recently made a Minion cake and I am struggling with my cost. I ended up charging $135 for it, which I believe is fair. It took me 7 hours to make, start to finish. I put a lot of time and effort into it to make it as good as possible.
I just wanted to see if you all think $135 is a fair price? I always struggle with what to charge and I don't want to every overcharge inadvertently...
Here is the cake....
thanks in advance!!!!
no size defined. A half sheet? And you will hear about copyright on Minions. Really cute cake.
Yes, you can't sell minion cakes unless you have a license from Universal. Doesn't mean that people won't do it, but it's illegal.
How much to charge is based on what your expenses are, how much your materials cost, how much profit you want, etc etc. It's hard to price something for someone else because there are so many variables.
Yikes!! Well i certainly dont want to get into any copyright issues! Looks like i wont be able to charge for it. Thankfully I haven't given it to my friend yet...I had just told her that is what i woudl charge. Guess someone is getting a free cake :(
Have her take you out for a couple of nice dinners and movies! Your cake is adorable :)
Oh that is a great idea! I was just sitting here pretty bummed out about loosing out in this cake.... But she is a good friend and would totally go for that. She will just call it an "I owe ya one situation", lol!
Thanks
