Hi everyone

Need advice please regarding Red Colouring for Royal Icing. With Christmas coming up, I am once again looking at sourcing a good quality Red Colour to add to my Royal Icing for cookies. Last year I the following from Wilton: 'Christmas Red' and 'Red Red', both of which gave me more of a pink than red. Recently I was able to find 'No Taste Red' but have not used it yet.

I live in Germany and there are not many Cake Decorating shops around and they also only have limited selections - and also only Wilton. I've heard of Americolor (and that most prefer them over Wilton) and I see I can source these on Amazon. But I'm not sure what I should be ordering as I can only see AmeriMist and Fondant Color Soft Gel. If I go ahead and order Americolor, can I use the Fondant Soft Gel in my Royal Icing (made with egg whites)? Also, which 'Red' should I order so that I get a proper red for lets say Christmas Hats?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would go with Sugarflair Red Extra.  Although you still need disturbing amounts of the stuff...

As far as I know, these companies ship to Germany and mainland Europe...

They aren't the cheapest supplier but they do send overseas.
Viel Glück! x
