I have a cake due tomorrow, and practiced my first FBCT a couple days ago. The image turned out great. I used an extra 6 inch cake with buttercream for practice. I slapped on the FBCT and piped around the edges.... and let it sit overnight. Being the first time, I wanted to see if the colors would run/smudge, etc after sitting out for a few hours. (The lady is going to pick up the cake the day before the event). The next morning the image still looked great, but the entire FBCT had shrunk just a tad and there was a millimeter gap between the image and the piping. Now I am worried that will happen when she takes her cake home and pulls it out for the event the next day. Help! Any advice?? Also, would you recommend she refigerate the cake overnight? Or leave it boxed at room temp?
