I have a 3 tier wedding cake, made on a dummy for display only, ready to go. All 3 tiers have Claire Bowman cake lace around them. The bottom and middle tiers are fine, but the lace on my top tier seems to be stretching a little each day and coming unstuck.
The pattern of the lace on this top tier is much more "filled in" and has more lace product in it than the other tiers. Each time I look at it, there seems to be a new little section where the lace has come unstuck and I think it's stretching. I'm trying to combat it by using the smallest of paint brushes to stick through sections of the lace and re-stick it with a dab of water to the fondant, but worried by the time this cake travels for 5 hours to get to the wedding destination on Saturday, that it will all be loose and look horrid.
Anyone else had lace "stretching" issues, or have any hints? Thanks :)
