I made 200 cupcakes for a ribbon cutting tonight. I  decorated them and put them in the clear plastic containers like the grocery store then put them in the refrigerator so they would stay fresh. The tops  of all the cupcakes are extremely sticky where it is not covered in frosting! What can I do? If I set them out of the container for a while, will that help? Should I take them out of the refrigerator? I didn't have time to re-do them all but don't want a sticky mess!

Whether kept in the fridge, or out . . . They will get sticky when sealed in plastic containers because the moisture has no where else to go.   The stickiness will dissipate once they are out of the container for a bit.
