So I'm semi new to making cakes. I've always just made them for friends or family who needed one.

However yesterday i took on my very first paid customer! I'm super excited!

I have been working with Fondant for most all of my cakes and have only ever used boxed mixes, but I find that the cake crumbles so easily, and does not cut very well

i want this cake to be perfect for my customer .  So I am looking for your help!

what is the best cake to work with?

I was looking at Victoria sponge cake, but wasn't sure if this would hold up.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys!

Try the WASC cake recipe featured all over this site!  It is an easy cake to work with since it has some denseness to it and it tastes wonderful!!!
