Since this is my first time making anything for a large group, I was wondering if it would be better to use a buttercream or Pastry Pride frosting. What would be the most popular? Is there a recipe for buttercream that anyone can share that is light and not too sweet? I will need to pipe frosting onto 40 cupcakes then decorate the outside with a ruffle border (cupcakes will be shaped into a baby buggy shape).
Just wondering what is most popular among guests. Have never used Pastry Pride and hope it doesn't have a greasy, chemical aftertaste.
It's been great getting help here with the cupcake recipes and fillings! Now for the frosting. :)
Actually I need frosting for 48 cupcakes plus a dozen or two (not 40 total).
