Hey cake fans!!

If someone ordered a dozen cupcakes but wants half vanilla half yellow do you charge extra? I'm just starting out and not actually sure how to successfully half recipes so I always have extra when people order this way.

You can say you have a minimum order of 12 of one flavor.

If you don't mind making the different batters I have a few possible options:  find small batch recipes that look like yours, (there are recipes for 4, 6 or 12 cupcakes) on Pinterest or Google or find a chart that tells you the half measurements you need or you can make a regular recipe and freeze the leftover batter or the baked cupcakes.

Exactly what Pastry Bag Lady said:

(This is an industry standard in the USA)
