I am baking a non-commercial sheet cake and I want to put a baseball on it.  I used the ball pan, but this came out looking like anything but a ball....  What can I use to make a smaller ball for this cake?

Rice Krispies?

I've never tried rice cripsies, but it may be worth a shot.  Do you just make them as usual and ice them, or it?  How do you get it smooth?

I make mine a little more firm than usual (to hold its shape), freeze for a bit to set it, coat it in melted chocolate, freeze it again (just a few minutes), if I need to, I shave the sides,  then ice or wrap in fondant

When I use the ball pan I also bake a same size round to go in between the two halves of the ball and that gives me a better rounded shape.
