I would like to make an Amaretto Pound Cake and it seems that all the recipes I am finding are using bundt cake pans ore flutet baking pans to bake the cake. Is it possible to use a 6 or 9 inch round pan instead with those recipes? My goal is to make an Amaretto cake with 2-3 - 6 or 9 inch layers then cover and decorate it with fondant. At a friends house I tried an Amaretto Cake that was so rich and moist - it was like heaven.... The cake was bought from a bakery.
Any recommendations? Please help! Thank you in advance! :-)
my only thought is i would use a recipe with cake flour so it has a finer texture -- i use the traditional pans for pound cake -- but it's certainly done to use it as a layer cake -- you gotta watch to be sure the middle bakes up good -- maybe place a rose nail in there or a baking core -- best to you
