I am making a carved grey goose cake . It will be sitting..How do I shape the neck and head so that it stays in place without falling over?
Though I have never tried it, I have seen the decorators on Food Network & other such shows use PVC piping and wrap rice krispies treats or modeling chocolate around it in the shape they needed - in this case , the neck and head for you. You then cover with buttercream, then fondant.
Please let me know if it works as I have a peacock cake to do in August & that's the method I am planning to try.
