Hi everyone!

Sorry I wasn't on here last night. It was a crazy night for us in our family..celebrations on top of celebrations. Our daughter graduated college yesterday so there was a family dinner for that after Jack's baseball game where he hit a triple and a home run! So I, literally, didn't end my night till 11:30pm. No cake for the graduation yet...she wants to wait to have her party till after we all move...kind of a Graduation/Housewarming party all in one. So that will be in July.

I do more have news! My kids surprised me with a trip to Disneyland for my mother's day gift! So May 28th I will be there but we'll be back the 29th and I should be home for Cake Club...it may get started late but it will get started. Then I'll be able to hang out with all of you and enjoy the down time!

Hope your week's were great!

Hi Cat, Wondered what happened.  Congratulations to your daughter.  Glad you had a good night.  That's exciting News. (Disneyland and all)

I hadn't posted for a couple of weeks.  Last time we were having a major rain storm.  I cake got soaked and the humidity reeked havoc on the fondant.  I didn't want to post it being that we have to first add it to our pics first.  Last weeks cake was a beautiful Paris Theme Baby shower.

Working on a quinceanera cake for this afternoon.  Will post all pics later.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend so far!

Cat, I'm so jealous you're going to Disneyworld!! Congratulations to your daughter as well!

I've had a pretty hectic week! Not sure if many of you know, but its only me and my cousin who make cakes so this was a stressful week with many orders.

We made a 4 tier wedding cake, each tier was approximately 4 1/2 to 5" tall. BOY was it heavy!!

We also made a casino themed birthday cake:

A circus themed birthday cake:

And a soccer themed birthday cake:

Baking was done on Thursday and everything was decorated yesterday, it was crazy lol

Cat, Disney sounds like so much fun!  Lucky you :)  SweetShop5 you continue to make beautifully clean and perfect cakes.  It's incredible you were able to decorated those cakes on Friday - must have been pretty wild in the kitchen!

I only had one cake this week, 4 next week and then a little rest before an onslaught of hundreds and hundreds of birthday, wedding and graduation cupcakes.  I wish I could go to Disney in July!  This cake was a hiker's celebration of finishing his PhD program, his studies centering around St. Francis of Assisi.  The writing around the edge of the cake is the opening to his "Canticle of the Creatures"  This is my first sculptured standing human figure.  I'm sure I will look back on this one day and laugh, but for now this is what I could manage >_<   When I was researching how to do this the closest figure I could find of this theme was Dora the Explorer!  Ha ha, oh well, hope the customer likes it and I hope this posts correctly!

Sorry for the images being so large.  The teal 3 tiered cake is for the quinceanera today.  The paris theme cake and 75 cupcakes were for a baby shower last week.

SweetShop, awesome job.  Especially love the wedding cake.  My hats off to you.  So much work in a short amount of time.

PastryBagLady, Very nice.  Great job on the figure.  Get some rest you'll need it for your rush.

Wow! What fun cakes! I definitely have my favorite but I do love them all.

@SweetShop5 That casino cake is a huge hit with the guys in this house! I love the emblem on the soccer cake...so there are our votes! LOL!

@auntginn That sounds traumatic! I hate the humidity SO much. Am happy to be moving to a place that has humidity but no heat to go with it. I love your ...uhm...moutaineering?? cake. My favorite detail is the "rock" he's standing on! Totally looks like those big granite boulder tops you find when hiking...right down to the cracks! I know, I'm a caking geek! LOL!  Your Paris themed everything is adorable. I know just the invites they were matching too! LOL!

I have some mini cakes in the freezer and am seriously thinking I need to use up the left over fondant from my sons cake and do some art work this week with the cake...just for the fun of it. I need to start packing up the caking stuff for the move so might as well use the edible items up, right? I'll share on Friday!

BTW...thank you all for including me in your lives and your work. It's so very very cool to see this stuff each week. It was nice to be missed too!

THEN it was supposed to comment on AuntGinn's Paris cake. SIGH. Sorry!

Ha ha, I got the gist of it :)  I'm calling it a hiking enthusiast's cake.  The rocky part on top of the cake was born more of necessity than artistry.  It anchors the boots so the figure would stand solidly.

@pastrybaglady Thank you! When we first started in the morning, the kitchen was barely visible haha! I love your cake as well, your piping is really good!

@auntginn Thank you!! It was almost 12 hours of decorating, but I would totally do it again, it was so much fun! Your Paris themed cupcakes are ADORABLE!!

@catlharper LOL thanks Cat! You'll definitely have to post about your Disney trip on here! I'd love to hear all about it!

@SweetShop5 thank you.

How cool is this.  When I opened the CC page, there in the middle of "Today's Favorites" is my pic of my cupcakes.  That is a first for me.
