Hi I prefer to use mccormick food coloring drops rather than the gel food coloring to color my frosting. Sometimes I have a hard time getting the right colors I'm looking for, particularly bright vibrant colors. Any tips?

It is because the liquid food coloring is not as concentrated as the gel.  

You would need to use so much to make it bright and vibrant your consistency of the icing would be compromised...
