I just found a great way to 'imitate' tooled leather designs on fondant. I have to make a vintage western themed shower cake and thought about making one of the borders look like a western belt. After pricing out the leather stamping tools, and not being able to find rubber stamps with the designs I was looking for, I went to the fabric department and there it was... faux leather with an embossed tooled-leather design. I bought a small amount and just tried it out and it works great! I am going to use brown fondant to start with, and then 'glaze' it with some diluted black and everclear! I can't wait to see how it turns out! It works great!
