Do you normally ice the whole cake in this icing or is it just for the filling? If so, do you use bc to ice the rest?
I have only used this filling once - and only as a filling. And yes, I used plain old buttter cream to ice the cake and it tasted great. I don't think I'd use this to ice the entire cake because it really is more like whipped cream.
This cakes requires refrigeration because of the filling.
So I would go all the way and frost it with whipped cream frosting:
i just used it for the filling and used the buttercream dream for the rest of the cake. hth.
Hope someone can help me. I have some questions of my own. How far in advance can you make this filling? Do the cookies get soggy? I was hoping to use this filling in a cake that I am covering with MMF. How will I do that if it needs to be refrigerated?
The cookies do get soft fairly quick. I made the icing about 1 hour before I used it and stuck it in the fridge. The cookies were soft when I used it. I crumbled them into small pieces so you could use larger ones.
