Hi, I was wondering how to prevent cake fillings from soaking up into the cake. My fillings always seem to vanish! I saw this image earlier today while looking for some inspiration for a cake and it looks perfect! How can I possibly achieve this sort of clear, distinct separation between my cakes and my fillings?
That looks like a whipped ganache filling that should not soak into cake. I would think just make sure that your cake is completely cooled. When I use other fillings like pineapple and strawberry, I put a thin layer of buttercream on cake then put filling. Seems to work for me.
