Hi I have just baked a cake (tuesday) and decided to make a cake for my mother for Saturday

If I frost with buttercream tomorrow and cover with fondant will it still be edible for Saturday

Please help

It will be edible but it might be dry. I'd cover with buttercream, freeze and then wrap. Thaw and cover with fondant Friday or Saturday. Let thaw completely before covering with fondant.

Hi!

Yes, it will be edible if you used simple syrup to moisten the cake. From my grocery experience, cakes can be good 5-7 days, kept covered. Even if you kept it in a cake carrier, that would help. If you have the time, freezing the cake as shallop said, would be the best bet.
